Serbia will sign an agreement with Russia-led EEC

Serbian officials say Belgrade will sign a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, which could harm the efforts of the Balkan country to join the European Union.

It is expected that the agreement between Serbia and the EEC will be signed on October 25, said the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

A statement came on Monday after Vučić met with Russian ambassador Alexander Botsan-Harchenko, who said the agreement would provide Serbia with 180 million people access to the market.

The EEC includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
