The acting Bolivian President, Jeanine Agnes, has asked all ministers to resign to reshuffle the government after she announced her participation in the presidential election. This was announced on Sunday by the presidential administration press service.
“Constitutional President Janine Agnes considers it generally accepted to carry out permutations in the executive working team in anticipation of the registration of candidates who will participate in free, impartial and transparent elections on May 3. In this regard, she decided to ask for the resignation of all ministers before a new stage in the transitional democratic government, “the statement said.
Agnes promised to announce the new composition of the Cabinet as soon as possible.
On January 24, Agnes announced that she would run for president on May 3. She previously said that she would not be a candidate. Following the announcement of Agnes’s nomination, Bolivian Communications Minister Roxana Lizarraga resigned, criticizing the decision of the acting the president.
