The EU summit failed to agree on climate protection

The leaders of the countries of the European Union during the European Council summit in Brussels could not agree on creating conditions for climate protection by 2050.

Reportedly, representatives of 28 EU member states could not reach agreement on climate protection policies because of objections from leaders of Eastern European countries.

It is noted that European leaders confined themselves to a general declaration, in which they only reaffirmed their principled commitment to creating conditions that preclude a negative impact on the climate.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that at the summit of the European Council on June 20, the leaders of the European Union failed to elect a new head of the European Commission. None of the candidates managed to gain a majority of votes. The next meeting of the European Council will be held on June 30th.
