On June 26, MasudBarzani, the Kurdish leader and president of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan (WPC), received the British Consul General in Erbil, Martin Warr, with whom he discussed the latest security and political events in Kurdistan, Iraq and the region as a whole.
According to a press release, during the meeting, Barzani and Warr agreed that eliminating terrorism requires the joint efforts of the international community and local partners.
The parties discussed economic opportunities and attraction of British business organizations and investors to the territory of the autonomous region.
Warr, who is finishing work in Erbil, also thanked MasudBarzani and Kurdistan for close coordination with the British diplomatic mission. In turn, Barzani wished the British diplomat success in future posts.
The British side insisted on the need for bilateral meetings not only in Kurdistan but also in the UK.
