The UN Security Council will discuss the situation in the Middle East, where two commercial tankers were blown up, and then the US Navy drone was shot down.
The delegation of the United States appealed to the UN Security Council with a request to hold a discussion on the current situation with Iran.
Representatives of the United States Mission to the United Nations noted that they intend “to inform the Security Council about the latest developments around Iran, as well as provide additional information from investigating recent tanker incidents.”
As reported, during the last week the tension in the Middle East region has significantly increased due to the aggressive actions of Iran. In particular, the United States announced that it was laying responsibility on Tehran for the bombing of two commercial tankers in the Ottoman Gulf.
In addition, Iranian forces shot down an unmanned US reconnaissance aircraft in international airspace. The American side brought into full combat readiness the appropriate forces to attack three Iranian targets. At the same time, as stated by the President of the United States, in the last minutes he canceled the operation.
