US President Donald Trump expressed hope that a trade agreement between Washington and Beijing will be signed before the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in November in Chile. He stated this on Friday to reporters in the White House.
“I think that the trade agreement between the US and China will be fairly easily signed,” Reuters quoted Trump as saying. “I hope this will happen at the Chile summit, where President Xi Jinping and I will be present.”
US President Donald Trump told reporters on October 11 following talks with Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Liu He that Washington and Beijing have come to a “significant first stage” as part of a deal to resolve bilateral trade disputes. On October 16, he specified that the agreement would probably not be concluded until he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the APEC summit to be held in Chile in November.
