US President Donald Trump would like to be in Moscow on May 9 next year for Victory Day celebrations. The American leader said this, answering a question in an interview with reporters in the White House.
“Yes, that’s right, I was invited,” said the American leader. Trump answered the question of whether he intends to take advantage of the invitation given to him earlier to visit Moscow on May 9, 2020.
“I was invited at the height of our election season, but I’ll definitely think about that. Putin invited me. This is a very important thing: the celebration of the end of the war. This is a very an important matter, so I appreciate the invitation, “Trump further said.
At the same time, he reiterated that May 9 falls at the height of the election campaign in the United States. The next general election in the United States will be held on November 3, 2020. Trump will once again run for them in the US Republican presidency. “This is the height of the political season, so I’ll see if I can do it, but I would like to go if I can,” said the head of the US administration.
Putin invited Trump to events on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory during their bilateral meeting, which took place in June in Osaka, Japan, on the sidelines of the G20 summit. The American president, in turn, assured before that he would seriously consider this invitation.
