The United States has again extended for two months the exclusion from sanctions against Iran’s nuclear sector on four occasions, the State Department said.
In the message, these exceptions are called “restrictions” on the nuclear program. Earlier, the United States more than once extended the exceptions that allowed Russian, Chinese and British companies to cooperate with Iran in the peaceful nuclear industry without fear of US sanctions.
State Department spokesman Morgan Ortagus again accused Iran of “nuclear blackmail” and assured that the United States would not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.
“We will continue to use the full range of our diplomatic and economic instruments to limit Iran’s destabilizing proliferation of (nuclear technology). We will continue to closely monitor all developments in the Iranian nuclear program and can change these restrictions at any time,” Ortagus said.
